Candidate will perform storage O&M responsibilities. The responsibilities include, but not limited to, ensuring daily operations, performing routine maintenance activities, implementing baseline changes, responding to change requests; documenting changes, maintaining configuration documentation, forecasting storage capacity, troubleshooting, and restoring services; providing configurations, and coordinating & collaborating with storage stakeholders on requirements. Storage Engineer will also ensure SAN/NAS performance are operating in accordance with industry standards based on storage type, volume, and operating environment (traditional data centers or CLOUD), interface with compute and networks teams continually to ensure the storage arrays are providing the most effective and efficient performance. Coordinate with internal MS providers (CISG & ASG) on storage requirements. Participate in the appropriate MS governance forums.
1. Demonstrated experience rebuilding, testing, restoring, and performing routine maintenance activities for Storage Area Network (SAN) and/or Network-Attached Storage (NAS) operating in traditional datacenter and CLOUD environments. 2. Demonstrated experience using market available tools to provision, troubleshoot, and measure and/or improve the network, measure performance, diagnose/fix problems, and proactively adjust to high volume storage needs dynamically. 3. Demonstrated experience participating in/contributing to an IPT (Integrated Product Team). (Please provide examples). 4. Demonstrated experience documenting changes, maintaining configuration control, and keeping a system security accreditation in good standing.
Professional certification in any of the following (HCS, HCE, NCDA, NCIE, EMCSA or equivalent)
1. Demonstrated experience with program management. 2. Demonstrated experience with schedule management.
